14 Times TT winner Dave Molyneux teams up with Pro-Shift
Datum: 01-06-2012
Isle of Man born Side-car Champion Dave Molyneux will be hoping to increase his already impressive string of TT wins to 15 in 2012 with the help of Pro-Shift Technologies as a new addition to his world class team. Pro-Shift's MD Roy Tansley is no stranger to the gruelling 37 3/4 mile mountain curcuit as he holds the accolade of being the fastest disabled rider around the course. The original Pro-Shift Gearshifter was Roy's own invention to enable him to continue his love of racing following a biking accident which cost him his left leg.
Dave has been competing since 1985 and will again renew his partnership with World Champion passenger Patrick Farrance when they line up on the grid with their Kawasaki ZX-6R and new Pro-Shift System in a few weeks time. (Practice week starts on Saturday the 26th May).
Pro-Shift technicians Ian and Chris recently spent 3 days in the Isle of Man setting up Dave's outfit with the latest addition to the Pro-Shift range of Gearshifting Systems, the Closed Loop Bump & Blip TM. This System boasts fully adjustable flat shifting allied with an itegrated ignition ramping back on facility after a flat upshift to give the smoothest flatshifting available, when run in conjunction with the new remote cable operated Auto-Blip Downshifter the System provides lightening fast fully clutchless up and downshifting.
Following a successful installation all that remained was to put the System through its paces at Jurby airfield. As Chris has previous experience as a passenger the job of teaming up with Dave for the rigourous testing fell to him. The 160 mph Side-car runs proved to be the perfect cure for the excesses of local beer sampled the night before!
After the harsh environment of the airfield which was the ideal testing ground for the Closed Loop option, the System was deemed "perfect" and the Pro-Shift team set off for the trip back to Liverpool.
Dave will join Pro-Shift in the UK for final checks and adjustments before the start of Practice week.
